Novice Carnival
20th May 2009 |
The 2009 Mana Swimco Novice Carnival was held on
Sunday 27th May 2009 at Cannon's Creek Pool, Porirua. We had a huge
turn-out; there were 129 swimmers in total. It's fantastic to see so many
young swimmers keen to have a go.
Every year Mana Swimco enjoys hosting this event.
It's great to provide young swimmers with the development
opportunity it presents and is very much in keeping with our club
values.
So well done all you wee swimmers. We hope you
enjoyed the carnival. Keep it up.

Div III Carnival
4th April 2009 |
Our major annual fundraiser, the Mana Swimco
Division III Carnival was held today. It was Mana's first ever signature
meet under the new Swimming Wellington arrangements for major local meets
and therefore, for the first time in the history of the event, the venue
was the Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre, Kilbirnie. We hope you agree
it was a great venue. Participant numbers were at levels not seen for some
time, if ever.
Check full results for all swimmers here and for Mana swimmers only here. Also TM Zip file here. There are also photos in
the photo gallery.
Thanks to all swimmers for attending,
congratulations for your efforts today and good luck with your future
swimming. Thanks also to all the mums, dads, siblings, extended
family and friends for supporting your swimmers. They couldn't do it
without you and having you there helps to make it a great experience for
them. We hope you had a good time.
Last but by no means least, sincere thanks to the
many officials and volunteers who helped ensure the viability and
success of the meet. As always there is heaps of preparation and planning
by a few beforehand and then lots of help required from many on the day.
Thanks to all for your efforts and dedication.
A full meet and team manager's report will follow
in due course. |

Div III 2008
16 March 2008 |
The annual Mana Swimco Division III Carnival is
over for another year. It's always rewarding to see so many young swimmers
looking seriously good in the water and how cool is it to see the delight
on the faces of those winning their first ever medal!
Thanks to the coaches, parents, caregivers,
families and whanau for supporting their swimmers and to all the
swimmers who took part and yelled encouragement to their team-mates from
poolside. The atmosphere was great.
Thanks to all the volunteer officials for your
time, effort and commitment. As we all know the sport could not function
without your generous assistance.
Thanks to the parents, siblings and senior
Mana squad swimmers who all pitched in and helped with the million and one
things that need doing on the day.
Despite the unprecedented absence of Div III
initiator and stalwart - our wonderful president Viv Morton - it went
pretty well. The Mana Swimco Committee as a whole and Linda George in
particular, can feel justifiably proud.
Div III is a major fund raiser for
our club. This year much of the organising has been done by the fund
raising coordinating committee for the 2009 Brisbane Senior Squad Camp.
Accordingly, a lot of the money raised today will be put towards the trip
to Brisbane next year.

Here are the full
results and here's a summary of results for Mana Swimco swimmers only.
